Norb needs YOUR help!  21 July 2008: Norb entered our adoption program in July of 2007.  Shortly after arriving at the adoption center, Norb exhibited what we thought were symptoms of a relapsing upper respiratory infection.  After several rounds of various antibiotics over a period of several months, he returned to the vet who recommended a procedure called a rhinoscopy to determine the cause of his chronic respiratory infection and weepy right eye.  Only one facility in the Greater Milwaukee Area offers this level of care and even at a discounted rate, it still cost the organization $535.  During the rhinoscopy last month, it was learned that Norb's abnormal internal nasal anatomy is contributing to his chronic infections and samples taken during the procedure and later cultured have allowed us to tailor short and long term treatments based on his anatomy and specific to the type of infection he experiences.  Norb is a superb boy and at only a few years old, is still a great candidate for adoption and very deserving of a chance at life.  While there is no surgical cure for his condition, we are able to maintain a good quality of life with a proper diet and suitable antibiotics and supplements as needed. We are grateful to those who have made donations for his care but $350 is still needed to cover the costs of the rhinoscopy.  Please consider an on-line donation TODAY so that we can continue to provide the necessary treatment and a more comfortable TOMORROW for Norb!

CARAC is implementing a new program that is a fun and simple way for anyone to support and become an active part of the Companion Animal Resource & Adoption Center. Click here for details.

All donations to CARAC are tax-deductible. Donations are divided among the following programs unless otherwise designated:

• General Fund
  Covers the daily expenses of maintaining the adoption center and routine medical care for the animals in our program
• Spay/Neuter Wisconsin
  Designated to provide financial assistance to eligible members of the community qualifying for low-cost spay/neuter services for their companion animals
• Humane Education
  Designated to provide financial support for our various education and outreach programs
• Norman's Fund
  Established to assist with the expenses of the special needs animals in our program
• Long-term savings
• Transportation Fund
  CARAC has received a generous donation to assist with the purchase of a cargo van to be used to transport animals for adoption from the shelter. The transport vehicle will allow CARAC to transport more animals to off-site adoption and special events allowing for the opportunity to save countless additional animals from an uncertain future!
